Shooting stars will be visible in the skies tonight, as the Perseid meteor shower reaches its peak. The annual event occurs when the earth moves through the trail of debris left by the Swift-Tuttle comet, which orbits the sun. The LIC1 camera of the Canary Long-Baseline Observatory (CILBO) on Tenerife captured the peak of the 2020 Perseid meteor shower on 11 August.
