My planing set up…… With these big heavy beams I like to keep the work height comfortable by using a set of steel trestles. The Makita kp312 planer paired with a record power twin motor extractor keeps the work space tidy and almost chip free. I try and set the planer to give me a clean surface in 2-3 passes at just under 1mm a time, helping me judge the overall finished size while spinning each one over and over.
