How well does the MS Office suite run on macOS?
Aug 9, 2022 · I use Windows 11 for work and MacOS for everything else. Office runs great on MacOS, but it seems to work better on Windows. Its clearly designed for Windows and Windows' version of Office offers more functionality. As much as I prefer to use MacOS for everything; when working in Office, I prefer it on Windows 11.

Nov 1, 2020 · Apple isn't trying to replace the full-blown Microsoft Office suite. They are trying to fill in the void between Microsoft Office and freeware solutions like LibreOffice. Likewise Apple's iWork suite largely fulfills this goal in the same way that Photos, iMovie, GarageBand (a.k.a. "iLife") are a well-integrated suite of free multimedia tools.

I guess it's possible that Microsoft may end up blocking Office 2019 updates on High Sierra. If not, if you can figure out the url they get the updates from it should be possible to figure out a way to block the update prompts.

Apple iWork just works better in macOS and, if all you want to do is the basic stuff, it will be just fine. LibreOffice has more features, but the interface is just bad.
