The NED University of Engineering & Technology, was established in March 1977 under an act of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh after upgrading of the former NED Government Engineering College, which was set up in 1921.

The MS program in AI was launched at NED University from spring semester 2021 under the auspices of Computer and Information Systems Engineering Department. The key objective of this program was to promote an innovative and analytical thinking ability in the professionals by offering state-of-the-art courses in the curriculum.
