Dec 19, 2024 · Duke has two players in the top five (Cooper Flagg and Sion James). The field has collectively lowered, but Flagg has improved from 6.8 on Dec. 22 to 7.5 on Jan. 20. Cooper Flagg also leads DI MBB in the defensive win shares stat.

Dec 9, 2024 · As much as I enjoy football, corrupting the perceived value of a Duke degree just to "win at the highest levels" would be a colossal miscalculation, but I'm convinced we can "compete" at the highest levels without doing that. Finally, the more removed Duke athletes become from being Duke students, the less I'm interested.

Jan 16, 2025 · The original rule: Seeds #1-4 were "protected" from seeds 5-11 getting a "home" game in the 2nd round. That rule has been in place since 2003 when they started the pod system. Duke playing SC 1 hour from Columbia violated the rule. Pitt playing WI 1 hour from Madison violated the rule.
