Fire officials say the blaze is threatening power lines as well as the communities of Hasley Canyon and Hathaway Ranch.

Crews batted the un-contained Canyon Fire that’s scorched nearly 5,000 acres and prompted evacuation orders in an area straddling Los Angeles and Ventura counties in the Val Verde area.

A day after the Canyon Fire ignited in Ventura County, it has torched nearly 5,000 acres of land and triggered evacuation orders.
