But it was a little odd to hear that Marvel also planned to make the Fantastic Four a major part of the MCU’s future. Even though the Fantastic Four have always been prominent in Marvel’s comics, the characters — created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee — had never translated well to the big screen.
Despite strong performances by Pedro Pascal and others – and for all its "breezy competence and flair" – this retro vision of the future from Marvel doesn't have enough suspense.

If the early reactions on social media are to be believed, Marvel fans are in for the best Marvel movie in years. The reactions are extremely one-sided, with critics praising the cast, the story, the score, and the production value.
First Steps, the most promising movie from Marvel in a long time, fans are already looking forward to a digital release date ahead of the movie’s theatrical premiere. Of course, as the movie hits theaters on July 25,
First Steps director Matt Shakman has reiterated that the movie is a standalone story that doesn't require any homework on Marvel fans' part. Speaking to TechRadar, Shakman says the forthcoming film isn't beholden to the same connective tissue that other Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) projects are because it exists in a parallel dimension.
