The hit FX series landed 13 Emmy Award nominations on Tuesday - an impressive total, until you consider the prior Emmys. This time last year, season two of The Bear set a new comedy series record with 23 Emmy noms.

How “Severance,” “The Studio” and “Adolescence” could follow in the footsteps of past Emmy sweepers like "Schitt's Creek," “The Crown” and “The Bear."

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves—the nominations were just announced this morning. Brenda Song and Harvey Guillén took the stage in L.A. to present the nominees. The two did a pretty decent bit about how no one wanted them to do a bit at 8:30 in the morning, which was honestly a pretty solid bit, even if they had to play it to an empty room.

Shows hosted by Jon Stewart (“The Daily Show”), Stephen Colbert (“The Late Show”) and Jimmy Kimmel (“Jimmy Kimmel Live”) will compete for best talk series. Only three series were nominated this year, leaving “Late Night With Seth Meyers” and “Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney” out in the cold.

This one’s a no-brainer. Jeremy Allen White is now a two-time Golden Globe winner, the reigning Primetime Emmy champ, and the emotional engine of the show everyone’s talking about. He’s going back-to-back unless Emmy voters decide to shock the system.
