PALA, Calif. — Firefighters are battling a brush fire that broke out Friday evening in Pala. The Henderson Fire was reported at 5:42 p.m. on Henderson Road, about a mile and a half north of Highway 76. According to Cal Fire San Diego, the fire has burned about 5 acres at a moderate rate of spread through grass and brush.
Henderson Fire broke out on Friday evening near the Pala Shooting Range. It has grown to182 acres. Residents in Temecula have reported seeing smoke.
The fire was first reported around 5:40 p.m. on Henderson Road near Oaks Road, according to Cal Fire Capt. Thomas Shoots. Within an hour of it being first reported, the blaze had spread to about 40 acres with wind pushing it to the northeast.
