US officials have denied claims that a Norwegian man was sent home because of a meme - but the case has raised international questions.

Mikkelsen said he was strip-searched, fingerprinted, had his luggage searched, and blood taken. He also claimed that his Norwegian passport was wrongly marked as “Spanish”.
