Altice had removed all Nexstar programming from Optimum in the New York area on Jan. 10. in a carriage dispute.

Nextstar and Optimum have reached a carriage deal that will restore programming to Altice customers in the United States, the companies announced Saturday. The deal comes days after NewsNation and network and local programming provided by 63 of Nexstar Media Group’s television stations in 42 markets went dark.

Altice, which counts key cable systems in New York as part of its Optimum service, is also in a carriage dispute with MSG Networks, led by James L. Dolan, whose family used to operate Cablevision, which Altice purchased in 2015 for $17.7 billion. Altice USA is based in Long Island, New York.

After multiple stations went dark last week, Nexstar has reached a carriage agreement with Altice USA. The partnership agreement was announced Saturday, and although the terms were not released, programming has already been restored to two million subscribers of Optimum TV,

Altice USA has sent a letter to the Federal Communications Commission complaining about Nexstar’s handling of retransmission consent negotiations, which recently led to a blackout of 63 Nexstar stations in 42 of the cable operator’s Optimum markets.

Nexstar Media Group, the parent company of KTAB and KRBC, has reached an agreement with Altice USA to restore network and local programming for Optimum cable customers. This resolution comes after a week-long blackout impacting viewers of 63 local television stations across 42 markets nationwide.

Two million subscribers of Optimum pay-TV systems are going without Nexstar Media Group local stations and cable network NewsNation due to a carriage dispute.
