The Kansas City Chiefs have announced their Derrick Thomas and Mack Lee Hill award winners for the 2024 NFL season. After finishing 15-2 and securing the AFC’s No. 1 seed, the Chiefs advanced to Super Bowl LIX.

The winner of this season’s Mack Lee Hill Award, which goes to the Chiefs’ top rookie or first-year player, is wide receiver Xavier Worthy. The first-round draft pick from Texas topped KC’s wideout corps with 59 receptions for 638 yards and nine total touchdowns. He also rushed for 104 yards.

Nearly two weeks removed from their Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Kansas City Chiefs have had time to reflect on their performance and the missed opportunity to make NFL history by securing a third straight Lombardi Trophy.

Former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy added another accolade to his extensive resumé. Worthy, who scored the Kansas City Chiefs' first touchdown in their loss in the 2025 Super Bowl, was named the team's Rookie of the Year.
