Israel carried out an air strike on Beirut's southern suburbs on Sunday, after ordering an evacuation of a building that it said was being used by the Iranian-backed group Hezbollah. The attack occurred despite a ceasefire that came into force five months ago which put an end to the conflict between Israel and the military group.

BEIRUT (Reuters) -The Israeli army said on Sunday it struck a southern Beirut building being used to store precision missiles belonging to Hezbollah. The attack was a further test of a fragile ceasefire between Israel and the Iranian-backed militant group.

In the Gaza Strip, 51 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes in 24 hours, the Gaza Health Ministry said. Israeli jets struck Beirut’s southern suburbs for the third time since a ceasefire.
