Global pop star Ed Sheeran has debunked rumors of him going to a New Year's Eve party hosted by Harry Potter author JK Rowling.

Ed took to social media to clarify a couple of things on Wednesday — including a widespread report that he “brought joy to wounded IDF soldiers.”

Journalist India Willoughby shared a screenshot earlier this week of an opinion piece claiming that Ed had “brought joy to wounded IDF [Israel Defense Forces] soldiers”. She then alleged he’d also attended a New Year’s Eve party at the home of the Harry Potter author, based on recent reports in the press.

The singer-songwriter hit back after reports from UK tabloid The Sun suggested he was at Rowling’s estate for a New Year party.
