Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo is a doubt to face Wolves on Sunday after picking up a knock in the 2-2 draw against Everton in midweek. The in-form Dutchman has scored in his last seven appearances at Anfield but was forced off in the 69th minute of the Merseyside derby.

Cody Gakpo was not involved in team training on Friday as Liverpool prepared for the Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Arne Slot had revealed in his pre-match press conference that the attacker was a doubt following a knock sustained in the 2-2 draw with Everton on Wednesday.

As a result, Slot may feel inclined to hand Darwin Nunez a chance to start as their No.9, with Diaz keeping his place and reverting to his natural role as a left winger. If the South American doesn’t improve there, Gakpo could replace Diaz in midweek against Aston Villa or fill in as their centre forward ahead of Nunez.
