Former Augusta commissioner John Clarke has suffered a heart attack, according to Commissioner Catherine Smith-Rice.

The goal is to decide whether to opt in or out of new Georgia law by the last Augusta Commission meeting in February, which is ahead of the March 1 deadline to decide.

The cold weather could help Richmond County as the annual “point-in-time”, or PIT, count is preparing to take place.

Before any changes happen, some Augusta commissioners want to make sure any concerns from residents are heard.
