As Jurassic World movies tend to do, Rebirth features callbacks to a number of films in the franchise. However, it pays particular homage to the original—and greatest dinosaur movie to ever do it— Jurassic Park. Here are six of the best nods to Steven Spielberg's 1993 classic.

Jurassic World Rebirth was written by longtime Spielberg collaborator David Koepp, screenwriter on Jurassic Park and its 1997 sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. While Steven Spielberg hasn't directed an entry since The Lost World, he has executive-produced every sequel since — and Rebirth is no exception.

The prospect of seeing a functioning Jurassic Park helped make Jurassic World the biggest hit of the 2015 summer movie season. Like with the original film, it was a big deal when it came out. And, while it doesn’t fulfill the promise of its title as well as it could, it’s better than the two other parts of the trilogy combined.
