There were 19 new confirmed cases of measles in Alberta over the past 24 hours, resulting in the province surpassing a total of 500 cases of the virus since early March.

Manitoba faces a significant measles outbreak. Sixty cases are confirmed. The disease spreads rapidly. Canada reports over a thousand cases this year. Vaccination eligibility expands in Manitoba.

The fist case was detected in Manitoba in February and now the province is reporting 60 cases. The virus is highly transmissible and symptoms often don't appear for a few days.
