National Signing Day was a momentous occasion for high school athletes across Acadiana, as they officially announced their commitments to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level.

A dream come true. That was the best way high school athletes in the Acadiana area could describe national signing day Wednesday as players inked their verbal pledges with colleges.

In Lafayette Parish and its surrounding area, almost any day can be signing day as schools are loaded with college-level talent, especially on the gridiron. During the early signing day period, the 337 had nine athletes sign to play Division I, II, and NAIA ball come next fall.
