Against prevailing odds, the Utah Hockey Club will pick fourth in the 2025 NHL Draft after winning the second lottery drawing on Monday night. A team can move up a maximum of 10 spots. Utah finished with the 14th-best record in the NHL in the 2024-25 season, meaning the fourth overall pick is the best it could hope for.

In a stunner, the Islanders moved up nine spots to land the No. 1 pick. The Isles had the second-lowest odds of winning the top pick at 3.5%, but now will kick off the draft for the first time since selecting center John Tavares in 2009. It will be the franchise's fifth time picking first overall.
