Instagram on Sunday rolled out Edits, a video-editing product that appeared similar to CapCut, which is owned by TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance.
Same day as TikTok ban, Instagram announces Edits, a new video editing app
Edits is only available for pre-order download from the Apple App Store. In time, it will become available in the Google Play Store.

For the uninitiated, CapCut is a free photo and video editor from Bytedance that you can use on your phone, tablet or PC to edit your content. While it’s ideal for cutting together shortform content for platforms like TikTok, you can also use its tools and AI features to create longer-form videos complete with captions and effects.
