The Kansas Attorney General’s Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation have signed an agreement with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security that will allow KBI agents to work with Immigrations

KBI Director Tony Mattivi told The Star his agents will only be involved in arresting immigrants with a known criminal history.

Under the state-federal partnership, an unspecified number of KBI agents would receive ICE training allowing them to issue immigration detainers, serve warrants for some immigration violations and arrest people allegedly in the U.
