The Cougars landed three former SDSU players on Sunday – linebacker/cornerback Caleb Francl, defensive lineman Max Baloun and safety Matthew Durrance – which makes four former Jackrabbits who have publicly announced they’re becoming Cougs, joining running back Angel Johnson, who committed on Saturday.

There is one certainty to the process in Pullman, however, and it should be cause for concern among WSU constituents: The Cougars signed Rogers to a five-year contract that will pay $1.57 million annually, according to published reports.

Rogers starred at South Dakota State, was a team captain and earned all-conference honors during his playing career. He quickly transitioned into the coaching staff and had served at his alma mater between his playing and coaching careers for nearly two decades.

WSU earned a commitment Saturday from South Dakota State running back Angel Johnson, according to a report from ESPN, giving Rogers his first transfer since accepting the Cougars’ job last weekend. Johnson will have one year of eligibility.
