Trade talks between India and the U.S. have hit a roadblock over disagreements on import duties for auto components, steel and farm goods, Indian officials with direct knowledge said, dashing hopes of reaching a deal ahead of President Donald Trump's July 9 deadline to impose reciprocal tariffs.

US President Donald Trump on Friday said he plans to send out letters to countries in the next week and a half, informing them of the tariff rates they will be required to pay on goods entering the United States.

President Trump said the United States would send out letters telling other countries “what they have to pay,” even as other officials said negotiations could be extended past a July deadline.
