The U.S. worlds team was chosen during the U.S. national championships in Wichita over the weekend, and skaters are starting to put together their resume for the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics next February.

World champion Ilia Malinin leads by the largest margin in U.S. Figure Skating Championships history after the men’s short program, seeking a third consecutive national title.

When he could have easily won a third straight U.S. title Sunday with a safely watered-down program, Malinin instead rolled out the same one he used in the Grand Prix Final, packed with the same unprecedented jumping difficulty.
