FRIDAY, Aug. 15, 2025 (HealthDay News) — A fast-moving cholera outbreak in Sudan’s Darfur region has killed 40 people and sickened more than 2,300 in the past week alone, according to Doctors Without Borders.

An aid group says cholera is spreading rapidly in Darfur. Doctors Without Borders says that the outbreak has killed 40 people and infected more than 2,300 in the past week.

An ongoing civil war in Sudan has forced millions of people to flee their homes and move to camps, where a lack of water and sanitation infrastructure, along with heavy rains, are fueling a massive cholera outbreak.
