Homeland Security said NYC Comptroller Brad Lander was arrested for assaulting law enforcement and impeding a federal officer.

New York City Comptroller and mayoral candidate Brad Lander was taken into custody by federal agents at an immigration court Tuesday as he was “escorting” a person out of a courtroom, his campaign says.

New York City Comptroller Brad Lander, who is running in the Tuesday election for N.Y.C mayor and was arrested last week by masked ICE agents, says his arrest wasn’t nearly as bad as what immigrants and asylum seekers go through every day.
