A woman has been arrested in Alabama in connection with the death of 3-year-old Ke’Torrius “K.J.” Starkes Jr., who died last week after a state-contracted worker left him unattended in a car for several hours in the sweltering summer heat.

A 54-year-old woman was criminally charged in connection with the death of a young boy in Alabama after he was left unattended in a hot car for hours, according to police.

The child, who was in foster care, died on July 22 after being left in a vehicle. A contractor for the state’s Human Resources Department was charged with a felony on Friday.
