Michigan State is heading to Chestnut Hill for the first time since 1992 to play a Boston College team that’s sitting at 2-1 and looking like a more formidable challenge than most recent versions of a program that hasn’t won more than seven games since 2009.

Coming off a 40-0 win over Prairie View A&M, Michigan State looks to continue the momentum it has built in the early stages of coach Jonathan Smith's first year in East Lansing. Quarterback Aidan Chiles has shown flashes of brilliance, and the defense has looked much improved compared to last season.

The Spartans will be extra short handed against Boston College with wide receiver Nick Marsh, Jaron Glover and Antonio Gates Jr. being ruled out.
