Snow also likely fell at the top of Mount Mitchell Tuesday night. The mountain is still without power, and its webcam and weather station have been offline since Helene hit on Sept. 27.

The Mt Mitchell vessel was built in 1969, purchased by Global Seas LLC, and refurbished in 2001, having installed new electronics, engines, and safety mechanisms, certified by the US Coast Guard.
