NFL insider Ian Rapoport was quite stunned that the Dallas Cowboys hired OC Brian Schottenheimer as their new head coach, promoting from within. Rapoport wasn’t alone as fan sentiment was generally confused if not angry.

The Dallas Cowboys are hiring offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer as their next head coach, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Jane Slater reported on Friday.

Brian Schottenheimer is currently assembling his staff as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. While it's unclear who'll be joining him, we at least know one coach who won't be sticking around for his tenure.
