Laughton revealed that he missed the previous three games before Monday due to the sudden and unexpected death of his father-in-law.

There was a lot of uncertainty at the Flyers’ morning skate. Ahead of the team’s game Monday against the New Jersey Devils at the Wells Fargo Center (7 p.m., NBCSP), coach John Tortorella did not have any lineup news aside from saying that Sam Ersson would get the start.

Flyers defenseman Nick Seeler put his head down like a linebacker about to make a vicious tackle when he leveled Devils forward Nathan Bastian on Monday night. Bastian lay on the ice after taking a blow to his head and eventually had to leave the game about midway through the second period.

The Philadelphia Flyers wrapped up a home-and-home set against the New Jersey Devils with a split. After a 4-2 home win on Monday, the Fyers sustained a 5-0 loss at Prudential Center on Wednesday evening.

For the third time in two weeks, the Philadelphia Flyers will square off against the New Jersey Devils, this time at the Prudential Center.

Travel really hasn’t been that big of a deal either. In last week’s back-to-back, the Flyers played at the Rangers on Thursday and the Islanders on Friday. That’s only a 30-minute bus ride between venues and they lost both games by a combined score of 9-2.
