The Chicago White Sox plan to unveil a statue of Mark Buehrle when they celebrate their 2005 World Series-winning team at Rate Field on July 11.

The statue will be unveiled on July 11, during a celebration marking the 20th anniversary of the franchise's 2005 World Series championship.

It may not have been the best timing, but at least the team revealed it is planning a 2005 White Sox reunion and a statue for Mark Buehrle.

It seemed a little odd that the return of SoxFest featured just three players from the World Series champs of 2005, especially since the 20th anniversary has arrived. But after Friday's opening
