The Texas-based hospitality company wasn't able to win a suit against Landry Distillery for improper use of its Landry's Inc. trademark.

Landry’s Inc. sued the new company in 2023, claiming that its name would create confusion among consumers familiar with the larger company's restaurants and hotels, ultimately diluting the value of Fertitta's brand. Landry’s Inc. owns hundreds of restaurants, casinos, hotels and amusement parks.

Landry’s, Inc., was founded in Katy in 1980 and is currently owned by Houston billionaire Tilman Fertitta, who also owns the NBA's Houston Rockets and is being considered as a possible pick for U.S. ambassador to Italy.

The Houston Rockets owner will join tech billionaire Mark Zuckerberg and Dallas Mavericks owner Miriam Adelson in ringing in the President-elect's second term.

Mark Zuckerberg co-hosts the inauguration reception with Donald Trump alongside other tech billionaires. He had recently bashed corporate culture and lauded "masculine" energy, which, he said, would lead to more aggressive but positive outlets.
