San Diego FC are not taking the infamous homophobic chant lightly for MLS games at Snapdragon Stadium.Ahead of their second home match on Saturday against Columbus Crew SC, the club has launched a comprehensive plan to push fans to avoid the chant often heard at Mexico national team matches.

San Diego FC has announced it will use pre-match and in-stadium messaging, enhanced security measures and strong enforcement of policies to discourage fans from engaging in what it called discriminatory chants at home matches.

San Diego FC will have increased security at Saturday’s home match after a homophobic slur was chanted during the club’s Snapdragon Stadium opener earlier this month.
