Former Pakistan test coach Jason Gillespie labelled his successor Aaqib Javed a "clown" and accused the former fast bowler of undermining him and ex-white-ball coach Gary Kirsten in order to take charge of the national team across all formats.

Jason Gillespie parted ways with the Pakistan test cricket team after being the head coach for a few months. Gillespie has called the current head coach Aaqib Javed a 'clown' following the latter's statement after Pakistan were knocked out of the Champions Trophy 2025.

Jason Gillespie took a jibe at Pakistan's interim head coach Aaqib Javed for undermining them during their stint with the Men in Green and running a campaign "behind the scenes" to take their role across all formats.

Jason Gillespie says he was undermined before quitting as Pakistan coach last December and has used a social media post to describe interim head coach Aaqib Javed as a “clown.”

Gillespie, who quit abruptly as Pakistan's Test coach late last year, accused Javed of plotting to take over as head coach while undermining both him and Gary Kirsten behind the scenes.

Taking note of Aaqib Javed's comments, Gillespie said the former pacer "undermined" him and Gary Kirsten and "plotted" to become the Pakistan coach himself.
