About a year ago, Texas Tech boosters offered (and paid!) $1 million to the best pitcher in college softball, NiJaree Canady, to leave Stanford and come to Lubbock.
However, before Canady broke out with Stanford and Texas Tech in softball, she was a multi-sport athlete in high school with a variety of options. While she ultimately chose to attend Stanford on a softball scholarship, Canady could have chosen an alternate path that would've seen her potentially star in a different sport, basketball.
