Constellation Energy stock, which has fluctuated wildly this year in the boom and bust of the AI hype cycle, briefly broke out Tuesday in response to news it signed a 20-year deal to sell power to Meta Platforms.

Constellation said the long-term contract will help extend the operating life of the Clinton plant, which faced possible closure after the expiration of its zero-emissions credit. The deal also includes a planned 30-megawatt capacity expansion.
