The water fell about 2 feet below normal Tuesday after a floodgate got stuck. This is at least the third time water levels have noticeably dropped in the last six months.

Levels at Lady Bird Lake dropped 2 feet after a gate at Longhorn Dam failed while in the open position on Tuesday afternoon. According to Austin Water, crews were performing scheduled work when one of the nine gates failed,

South Pleasant Valley Road between Cesar Chavez Street and South Lakeshore Boulevard was closed while crews work to resolve the issue.
