Elon Musk has accused Britain of having “misplaced priorities” after disgraced newsreader Huw Edwards was spared jail time for child sex offences. The SpaceX founder retweeted a post which slammed the former BBC anchor’s suspended sentence as “unbelievable”.

BBC boss Tim Davie has said he can't ever see disgraced ex anchor Huw Edwards working for the BBC again. "I can't see that happening for obvious reasons," he said. He's been "convicted of appalling crimes and it's pretty straightforward.

As Huw Edwards stood for his sentencing after pleading guilty to accessing child abuse images, he clasped his hands and projected a neutral expression. It was a pose millions of BBC viewers will have seen Edwards strike countless times as the seasoned presenter delivered the day's headlines.
