NEW YORK (AP) — Emma Meesseman, the 2019 WNBA Finals MVP who last played in the league in 2022, is joining the New York Liberty, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press on Monday.

The Lynx have been the 2025 front-runners, but Meesseman's return to the WNBA could tip the scales for New York.

The New York Liberty made a huge investment in retaining its status as WNBA champions on Monday. The team is reportedly adding former WNBA Finals MVP and forward Emma Meesseman, per ESPN's Alexa Philippou.
