Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud reportedly won't receive a new contract until the 2026 season comes to a close.
Even after the coming season, there may be no reason for the Texans to rush it. Stroud remains under contract through 2027. They’d be negotiating against themselves, like the Dolphins did when they gave Tua Tagovailoa what turned out to be a disastrous the-market-is-the-market deal in 2024.
