BYU athletics director Tom Holmoe will retire this summer after two decades in charge of Cougar sports. Holmoe’s retirement will be effective at the end of the 2024-25 athletic season, the university announced Tuesday.

BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe is retiring at the conclusion of the 2024-25 academic year, according to a Tuesday afternoon athletic department release. Per the Cougars, Holmoe will address his departure at a Wednesday morning press conference.

BYU AD Tom Holmoe, who has overseen four NCAA titles in addition to helping the Cougars move to the Big 12 in football, is retiring after more than 20 years at the school.

The 20-year athletic director announced Tuesday that he will retire following the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.
