Amazon founder Jeff Bezos disclosed the sale of company stock just one day after the company’s first-quarter earnings report revealed that the e-commerce giant is preparing for potential challenges related to tariffs.

Bezos, who stepped down as CEO in 2021 but remains Amazon’s top shareholder, is selling the shares as part of a trading plan adopted on March 4, the filing states.

Jeff Bezos filed with the SEC to sell up to 25 million shares of Amazon stock, worth $4.8 billion. He would still own 885 million shares.
