The World Cup has become nothing short of a nightmare for one of the most successful teams in international soccer history.

After their two victories in the 2026 World Cup, Germany face Ecuador in the last match of Group E. While Julian Nagelsmann’s team are already in the Round of 32, Sebastian Beccacece’s team are playing for their future.

The four-time champions had won every single World Cup penalty shootout they’d ever been involved in. At least until they came up against Paraguay in the round of 32.

Germany are out! After the DFB XI could not get beyond a 1-1 draw in extra time, Nagelsmann’s side lost 4-3 on penalties to Paraguay.  Paraguay are through to the round of 16 and will play France
