Alexander Zverev heaped praise on Jacob Fearnley after beating the rising British tennis star 6-3 6-4 6-4 at the Australian Open on Friday. British No.3 Fearnley enjoyed a remarkable run to the third round at Melbourne Park this year at his first overseas Grand Slam tournament.

Draper will take on Aussie Aleksandar Vukic in another Ashes Battle on Friday night. And British No.3 Fearnley, who showed great composure to beat Nick Kyrgios in the first round, will now take on world No.2 Alexander Zverev.

Jacob Fearnley's eye-catching run at the Austrlian Open came to an end on Friday following a straight-sets defeat to second seed Alexander Zverev.

Jacob Fearnley called his first Australian Open “awesome” as he backed Alex Zverev to finally win a Grand Slam. The British No.3, who only left college last June, went down 6-3 6-4 6-4 to the world No.2. But the Scot broke the German's serve for the first time this tournament and was praised for his aggressive approach.

Jacob Fearnley's fine Australian Open debut ended with a straight-sets loss to second seed Alexander Zverev in the third round. The Scot continues to take the upper levels of the professional game comfortably in his stride and he did not look out of place against one of the tournament favourites on Margaret Court Arena.
