Two people died in flooded basements on Thursday after heavy rain overwhelmed streets and subway stations in New York City. The New York Police Department confirmed the two deaths to ABC News.

A number of roads in parts of Belfast were affected by flash flooding following heavy rain on Friday. Police said the Laganbank Road in the city centre was "not passable" and the Lisburn Road, Boucher Road and Botanic Avenue were also impacted.

A line of heavy rain triggered by a potent low pressure system sprawling across the mid-Atlantic and Northeast dumped torrential rains across the New York City area Thursday afternoon, triggering widespread flash flooding.

A flood watch was issued by the NWS Seattle WA on Friday at 1:34 p.m. valid from Saturday 5 a.m. until Sunday 4 a.m. The watch is for King, Mason, Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom counties.

Parts of New York City flooded on Thursday afternoon as heavy rain blasted the Northeast. Flash flood alerts were in effect across the boroughs and down into New Jersey.

The National Weather Service says there’s a marginal, or low, risk of some of the thunderstorms becoming severe with intense wind gusts that could knock down trees and power lines.

The Lower Hudson Valley was slammed with heavy rains, winds and flash flooding Thursday, Oct. 30, distributing between 2 to 4 inches of rain, with some areas receiving over 6 inches. Flash flood warnings were in effect from 4 p.m. to around 6:15 p.m., which coincided with the heaviest bouts of rain.

On Sunday at 12:07 p.m. an updated flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 2:45 p.m. for Baldwin County.

Several flash flooding alerts have been issued for areas along the Space Coast after several inches of rain have fallen in a short amount of time, officials have said.
