BEML- Medha Servo Drives is expected to manufacture two 250 Kmph chair-car train rakes in Bengaluru for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor

Bengaluru, known for its technological advancements, is poised to make history by manufacturing India’s first high-speed train. On 5 September 2024, the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) issued a tender to build two state-of-the-art high-speed chair-car trains, designed to reach a top speed of 280 km/h and operate at 250 km/h.

Bengaluru is set to produce India’s first high-speed train, with BEML winning the bid to manufacture two train sets capable of reaching speeds of 280 km/h.

Bengaluru is set to manufacture India's first bullet train, with BEML leading production. The high-speed trains will run on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor, expected by December 2026.
