Bengals, Joe Flacco and Bears

CINCINNATI – Sunday’s Cincinnati Bengals game against the Chicago Bears will mark the 31st time they have faced a quarterback who went No. 1 overall in his first or second season. The Bears selected Caleb Williams No. 1 overall last year, and Sunday will mark his 25th career start.
The Bengals acquired Flacco from the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 7 because Jake Browning was struggling to replace injured starter Joe Burrow. Flacco was an immediate upgrade over Browning and has already thrown for 784 yards, seven touchdowns and zero interceptions. He helped the Bengals beat the Steelers on "Thursday Night Football" on Oct. 16.
This is the second injury to a Bengals' signal caller this season, after franchise quarterback Joe Burrow underwent surgery on his left big toe that he suffered in the team's Week 2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 14, where his timeline was set for him to return in three months.
The Bengals hit rock bottom in Week 8 in a 39-38 home loss to the New York Jets where the visitors piled up 502 yards of offense, which is more than they had totaled in their past two games COMBINED (302). The performance was so bad that the Cincinnati defense called a players only meeting one day later .
