Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz says the recovery effort is now underway amid the weekslong fight to contain several wildfires near the Arrowhead region, but warned "they will not be the last of this summer."

Blazes in the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan have forced thousands to evacuate. Smoke is expected to waft over the U.S. through the weekend.

Gov. Tim Walz was joined by leaders of both the DNR, the Department of Public Safety and the National Weather Service to also discuss the fire situation and outlook across the state.

Wildfire smoke from Canada is expected to move over the U.S., and maps and satellite imagery show the large-scale impact of the blazes.

As of 8 a.m. Monday, all evacuation zones around the Camp House and Jenkins Creek fires are longer active in St. Louis and Lake counties.

All evacuation orders prompted by wildfires north of Duluth, Minnesota, have been lifted, officials said Monday.

A Manitoba-wide state of emergency was declared because of the wildfires in the north, east, and western parts of Manitoba.
